I am a political scientist who focuses his research on micro local dynamics in the Middle East and works on relating these local patterns to the wider political system of which they are part. I hold a BA in English Literature from al-Ba'th University in Syria, an MA in International Development from the University of East Anglia, and a PhD in International Relations from the University of St Andrews.
